PACO

Paco’s story began in the quaint and charming city of St. Jerome, Quebec.  A town Northwest of Montreal.  Born of a Métis mother and French-Canadian father, he eventually spent most of his school-age years in Haiti.   Rich in heritage and culture, Paco chose to return years later where he worked in construction, already exploring and expressing himself via a variety of raw materials.  After years of burning the candle from both ends, this committed father of two decided to finally begin taking care of himself.  From that depth emerged the desire to express himself artistically.  Art essentially became a reflection of the man Paco is today.  Exposing his vulnerabilities and fears in front of the canvas, he soon discovered where his strength resonated.  The duality of life became a source of interest and inspiration for him and the reason he paints in black and white.  The unison between the light and darkness within us depicts our whole picture.  His work is an invitation to meditate and open ourselves up to the hidden messages in his art.  Painting and sculpting has broadened Paco’s views of our reality.  Knowing that there is always more than meets the eye in a piece, he enjoys connecting with others and discover what lies at a deeper level.   Art has become evolutionary for him.  He is curious to see where it will lead him as it is ever flowing.  He feels art has life to it and he is simply a witness to all of its beauty.  This sacred and intimate space is where he blooms.  Continuously giving back to the community, Paco enjoys teaching art classes to beginners and sharing his knowledge with them.  His hope is to light a spark within their hearts and inspire them to express themselves.  Each year Paco also collaborates with the Centre Jeunesse Montcalm introducing art to troubled teens.  His generous and compassionate heart is at the core of what he does, always.
